- In God we have boasted continually,
and we will give thanks to your name forever. Selah Pslam 44:8 Was reading this and kept asking myself, how well am I doing in my walk. Am I giving God enought of my time, am I in His word like I should, am I doing a good enough job at telling others of His love? Lately I don't feel I have been. Please keep me in prayer on this. For accountability purposes, how well are you guys doing? If you don't want to answer here, call a brother or sister in the Lord and tell them. Lets stay accountable in our walks. Lets be concerned about each other.

Thanks for the honest answer. I will be praying for this. So now what are you going to do to change that? I'm going to keep off the TV, stay away from the internet in the afternoons and get all distractions away and focus in on God. I let to many things come into my life during the day that distract me from my time with God.

I let to many things come into my life during the day that distract me from my time with God. I'm reading up on prayer and fasting ("hunger for God" by John Piper). I think fasting might hold a key to my growth. Its a discipline that I have ignored for some time. So prayer, fasting and intensive study of God's word.

| I continue to get kicked in the gut by John Owen's 'Moritification of Sin'. I'm finally 'getting it', so to speak.
Just took me a gazillion years.
Long way to go. Not content with my walk at all.

| First off, its good to see Kerry stop in.
Second, I really appreciate this thread. everyday I'm reminded that God sees all that we do. Even when others that love us don't see, He sees. And that fact causes me to want to walk more uprightly. If that makes sense.

| I wanted to stay away from this thread because my walk is also horrible. I've been struggling. I need to look at my time and get rid of unnecessary things like spending too much watching TV and internet. | |

| Whats good peeps Man, all I can say is my walk for the last 6 months has been a walk laced with depression and discouragement. A few events in my life had broke me to a crumb! In the midst of my brokeness the Lord had given me a wise older woman in Christ who would counsel and pray for me. She would call me every weekend to hold me accountable to make sure I "didn't do anything crazy". Well, this past weekend like a miracle I have begun to sense the Lord heal my brokeness. The pain and the burden I was bearing has magically- only by the goodness of God- has been lifted This is more a testimony ya'll. People have said that God has healed them of various diseases- I can now say with full assurance that the Lord indeed is a healer. He healed my brokeness!!!!! I see Christ's realness more clearly now and if I went through that pain only to be brought closer to Him than- it was worth it! Mark Driscoll said that for the believer pain is a purifier. I just pray that the Holy Spirit protect my mind and to continues to purify me. I'm encouraged brethren... and Christ is more precious than before ...so... To God be the glory ! | |

| Lately I've been on a start and stop tip. Like:
I started reading ch. 1 of The Institutes and stopped. I started Mere Christianity (again) and stopped. I pepper through The Valley of Vision. And my bible reading is practically non existent throughout the week.
I spend too much time online listening to sermons instead of unplugging and really digging into the scriptures.
Pray for consistency. | |

If that makes sense. No doubt B! This is something I often forget about. I give so much of my time to listening to music, chatting with brothers in the Lord, watching TV and many other things but don't think twice about MY time with God. I think we can all be praying for each other on this. I want to thank everyone for being open and honest. We need to encourage each other in these things and hold each other accountable. I praise the Lord with you elboogee!!! Praise God for the work He is doing in you.

| I'm very much looking forward to school being over in a few weeks. It's been a long almost 18 months. My reading and study time has had a bit of competition. I'm still able to read and study, but not write like I used to. I tend to learn when I write...so I need to get back. Looking forward to getting back. | |

| I'm in the same boat with Mike. The past few months have literally EXPLODED in front of me. I'm barely keeping up with what I have to do even here at work. I have at least SEVEN things on draft mode on my blog that I need to finish.
Speaking of finishing, me and Danni need to finish Knowing God. Both of us just got bogged down and it's been crazy ever since.
