There’s this girl that I just think is splendid
Someone that I’m courting and best friends with
But when I met her…..
I can’t lie, I was nervous like first graders who fret school
But now I cherish and rejoice about the day I met Jewel
I remember so vividly it was a hot summer day
7-15-02, I had no idea what was about to come my way
And then I saw a site that was stunning to behold
I saw a rare jewel in a pot full of coals
Now it’s unlike me for me to do the hollarin’
But I was being drawn to her, so my pride I was swallowin’
So when I met her…..
My heart rate was higher than prices for jet fuel
But I was still kinda collected the day I met Jewel
I played my cards and I was dealt her smile

Unashamed of this woman / I have shameless love
I can rejoice with glee and lift my voice to Thee

Convinced that no man is as blessed as I am
I’m glad this whole plan wasn’t left in my Hands
But when I met her…..
My experiences in life stopped filling the “regret” pool
And that’s right / that began on the day I met Jewel
I stress this; she’s a jewel too beautiful for a necklace
I often call her Rare Jewel / because to me she’s precious
And no, we didn’t force it / though times would get morbid
We supported each other in love, there was no shortage
Our wills we had to forfeit / and look what the Lord did
We matured and were rewarded with this gorgeous courtship
But when I met her…
I didn’t want my approach to be sloppy like when a pet drools
No matter what / I wanted to remember the day I met Jewel
So I thank God for the gift of this courtship to cherish
With its intent to glorify Him and transition into marriage
God has been gracious when we’ve been faithless
He’s been tremendously faithful in granting us patience
I await seeing her walk the aisle to me in that gown she’ll be dressed in
Where it’ll hit me that I can’t believe I’m marrying my best friend
So even now…..
She can be calm and collected or stern but yet cool
And I’ve been cherishing every moment since the day I met Jewel

It was very nice. It's just that I've known Jewel for many years (since we were little kids) and now I see how my little sister has grown into the beautiful woman that Brandon adores. It's been a long time comin'....lol.
