Sunday school teacher Farzana Bibi and her family members were recently attacked and threatened by militant Muslims in their rural village. The incident occurred as Sunday school students gathered in Farzana's home for singing and prayer. The fanatics had told Farzana, "We do not allow you to establish a church in this village. We will kick out your family and kill you."
She says the radicals interrupted the class and attacker her family members with hoes and picks. They beat her father, Sardar, who fell unconscious to the floor. Her mother, Parveen, was hit with tools, injuring her hand. They tore off her young brother's clothes and said, "We do not want Christians to pray in this village."
Farzana told us, "They ordered us out of the room we were in and said they would kill us because of the words we were preaching. They called us prostitutes for clapping our hands, dancing and singing religious songs."
Several months after the incident, Farzana helped arrange an Action Pack distribution in her village. She later reported to us that calm returned to the village after the distribution. "This is the fruit of our prayers," she said. "Our Sunday school is growing, and we have three new children now who are very excited about attending. Hallelujah! I have decided I will not be afraid, but will continue to hold the Sunday school."
