I'm the first to admit that I'm a bit out of touch with today's popular culture. I used to be into it all but He has thrown me a few truths/realities that make a lot of what passes as "news," "culture," "music," etc. a bit uninteresting and equally unappealing.

So ANYWAY, I'm surfing yahoo and find the a story about the new House of Dereon girl's line. I love Michelle Malkin. I REALLY, really do, but I know that she can be a bit uptight sometimes, so it's always good to scope out what she's griping about before taking sides.

With that said...please check out the advertisement nonsense below.

What you'll see are a bunch of young girls, dressed up in "outfits" and covered in makeup. You should immediately notice that this litte girls are aged 4-6 (I'm being gracious with the "6" thing). You'll see that the young lady in the red hat has her hand where her hip WILL be in about 10-15 YEARS. You'll also notice that her other hand is holding her up because of those 6 inch, red, studded leather heels, that SOMEONE has saw fit to place on her baby sized feet.

You'll also notice the "skinny" jeans that the girls in the center picture have on. You know how those 6 year old girls have to accentuate their legs. It's all about length, length, length when you're out on the monkey bars. They're sure to get all the attention from the boys...and the crazy pedophiles stalking the school yards.

The most disturbing image is the one of the blonde haired girl in the left side about the "Dereon Girls" text. She can't even focus on the camera, y'all. She's like 1-2 years old. I mean, let's get real here. Please, let's come back to reality. Why have they painted her lips with bright red lipstick? What is that all about???

The oversexualization of young girls is probably fresh in the minds of many due to the Miley Cyrus-Vanity Fair incident, but I agree with Malkin when she says that it pales in comparison to this. I realize that modesty lost the race against sexy raunchy years ago. I KNOW this. The problem is that designers and parents alike have started to lose focus of what "cute" is? Is "cute" dressing girls up like "sexy" women? Are young girls really supposed to look like mini versions of the latest pop diva? No...no...no...

Oh its getting harder and harder to teach young men and women sexual purity before the Lord when sexual loose-ness is shoved down their throats from birth..

Makes me think of all the pageants with girls of that age. It's definitely not a good look but it's just one more example of man's depravity.

i don't think i made an official announcement here.. but yeah.. we're expecting child numero dos in January (my birthday month... CHEA). But the above reference to "daughters" was a typo... i meant "daughter's" with an apostrophy as in ownership.. or an abbreviation for "daughter is NOT" as opposed to 'daughters wont"... i mispok...er mistyped. ... i hope i didn't speak the wrong thing into existence.... we're hoping for a boy..... stupid tongue and rutter steering the ship... *grumble grumble grumble*

A yo.. this is just.... CAN'T EVEN FIND THE WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT.. AND THE SADDEST THING OF THAT IS THAT THIS "FASHION" IS BEING ADOPTED BY CHRISTIAN MOTHERS!!!! yes.. on HCR I started a thread about this like two months ago..
I got to work with kids within the 6-11 years old range.. and man... I've seen this lil' girls with ULTRA MINI SKIRTS!!!.. and their are bro's and sis' who are supposed to be firm on the faith... that just grieves my heart, ya'll.... I have already talked to the "children's" pastor (yeap, we have one) and his wife in front of the Church's pastor.. and they said they was going to talk to the parents.. but I believe that hasn't happened yet.. I also have already talked about it with the pastor's wife...

as for me and my home...better yet, my daughter in my home....modesty is a 4 letter word these days. having fashion sense and style is cool. but having a girl dress like a woman? no no no!
