To God Be the Glory! Empty
PostSubject: To God Be the Glory!   To God Be the Glory! EmptySat May 03, 2008 9:49 pm

by Fannie J. Crosby

To God be the glory, great things He hathdone;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life, an atonement for sin,
And opened the lifegate, that all may go in.

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer, the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport1, when Jesus we see!

Refrain:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done!

I know this isn't everybody's cup of tea, but to me there's just something about those old hymns played on the organ!

By the way, the lady who wrote this was blind. Makes the last couple words on the last stanza more vivid.

I mean, you can't get distracted when you listen to hymns. You come face to face with the message being sung.

Speaking of Fanny Crosby

I found this one in my mom's house

Jesus keep me near the Cross! There a precious fountain
Free to all a healing stream, Flows from Calv'ry's mountain

In the Cross, in the Cross, Be my glo-ry, ever
Till my raptured soul shall find....Rest beyond the river!!!

Near the the Cross a trembling soul, Love and mercy found me
There the bright and Morning Star, Sheds its beams a-round me

In the Cross, in the Cross, Be my glo-ry ever
Till my raptured soul shall rind, Rest beyond the river

Near the cross, I'll watch and wait, Hoping trusting, ev-er
Till I reach the golden gate, Just beyond the riv-er

In the Cross, in the Cross, Be my glo-ry ever
Till my raptured soul will find....Rest beyond the river!!!
HALLELUYAH!!!! afro

here's the tune if you wish to sing a-long,
Go ahead serenade the Lord,
who cares if people are looking at you funny
They know they want to sing witcha!!!!cheers
(insert rejoicing in the LORD smiley here)http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=9fef69b278e3d08114da
